At Bancroft Summer Day Camp, every day brings a new adventure—and every year, that adventure gets bigger, bolder, and more exciting. From first-time campers to seasoned pros, our Day Camp experience is designed to help kids try new things, build confidence, and proudly own their adventure all summer long.
Our Day Camp journey—Explorers, Scouts, Voyagers, and Trailblazers—grows right alongside your child. With each step, campers gain more choice, more independence, and more opportunities to dive into what they love most. Whether they’re discovering a new passion, mastering a new skill, or making lifelong friends, every camper is supported, celebrated, and empowered to make their summer uniquely theirs.

Where the adventure begins
Explorers Day Camp is the perfect introduction to the magic of Bancroft Summer for our youngest adventurers. In a warm, nurturing, and joyful environment led by Bancroft faculty and alumni, campers are encouraged to try new things, build friendships, and discover the fun of camp—all with plenty of guidance and care.
Explorers rotate through a wide variety of engaging activities, including Arts & Crafts, Summer Library, Movement & Games, Swimming, Music, Cooking, Science Exploration, Yoga, and more. Each day brings a sense of wonder, routine, and excitement as campers gain confidence through exploration.
Daily swim OR water play, along with age-appropriate weekly special events—such as magic shows, animal visits, concerts, and Waterslide Wednesdays—round out a summer full of discovery. Explorers are just beginning to find their independence, and at Bancroft Summer, they take their very first steps toward Owning Their Adventure.

Discovering choice and confidence
Scouts Day Camp builds on the Explorer experience by introducing campers to choice, curiosity, and growing independence. As Scouts, campers begin to take an active role in shaping their days—this is where they truly start Owning Their Adventure.
Each week, Scouts select activities that spark their interests, from traditional camp games and team challenges to cooking, STEM, the Arts, and more. With supportive guidance, campers learn to make choices, try new experiences, and discover what excites them most.
Scouts enjoy swimming at the Greendale YMCA and continue to look forward to weekly special events, including magic shows, animal presentations, concerts, and the always-popular Waterslide Wednesdays. By the end of the summer, Scouts leave with stronger friendships, greater confidence, and a growing sense of independence.

Going deeper and finding their path
Voyagers Day Camp is where campers truly begin to chart their own course. Designed for students ready for more responsibility and deeper engagement, Voyagers are encouraged to explore their interests in meaningful and focused ways.
Each week, Voyagers choose four enrichment activities to concentrate on, allowing them to refine skills, challenge themselves, and dive deeper into areas they love—or try something entirely new! Weekly offerings span STEM, Cooking, Sports, Team Building, and the Arts, giving campers both variety and depth.
Voyagers swim weekly at the Greendale YMCA and enjoy special events tailored just for them, including carnivals, mad science shows, concerts, and fan-favorite Waterslide Wednesdays. This stage is all about confidence, connection, and ownership—Voyagers are learning what it means to take the lead in their own summer experience.

Leveling up and leading the way
Trailblazers is the ultimate Bancroft Summer experience for campers ready for maximum choice, challenge, and independence. Designed specifically for students entering grades 7 and 8, this program empowers campers to fully Own Their Adventure while developing real-world skills and leadership.
Each week begins with a specialty focus during the first two hours of camp, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves in hands-on enrichment experiences such as podcasting, cooking, graphic design, engineering, entrepreneurship, pottery, and more. With a full week dedicated to each specialty, Trailblazers gain skills, build confidence, and explore passions in a meaningful way.
Afternoons bring classic camp fun—swim and beach time, high-energy games, special events, and exciting field trips—all while fostering independence, collaboration, and leadership among peers.
Trailblazers play hard, think big, and leave with memories, skills, and confidence that last far beyond summer. They don’t just attend camp—they blaze their own trail.

My son loved participating in camp! He asked to go all summer after the 3rd day. It was a fantastic way to get introduced to the school before the fall and start to make friends.
